Wurlitzer "Victory" Jukebox
American. 1942. War effort metal restrictions caused Wurlizer designers to get creative with this Art Deco form masterpiece. One of Wurlizer's most recognizable models with stunning carved pedestals, burled veneers, and carved feathers forming a "V" on the grille. In contrast to the darker machines made a decade earlier, this cabinet illuminates to spark optimism, like the war-era songs it was built to play. Keyboard selector version. Rudolph Wurlizer Company. 65.5" x 36" x 24". Professionally restored and serviced. Cabinet refinished and fitted with correct Harlequin-motif glass panels. Minor marks to surface of cabinet. Original grille cloth and fleur-de-lis backboard. Replacement locks with keys included. Subject to reserve.
